Cover of the ebook Every Fact, Its Source

Every row: document, page, paragraph

Unsupported line stopped: NO SOURCE

See the method work

Watch a file become a chronology where every row has a source.

The worked example from the free sample, step by step: fix the permitted file, give an instruction with limits, tie each row to its document and stop any line without support.

Silent animated illustration of the free sample’s worked example. Fictional file; no real product, client or matter is shown. The chronology prepares material for a lawyer’s review; it is not legal advice.

Read the demo as text
  1. Use only the permitted file. Only three fictional documents may be used: the order (D1, 2 September 2026) and two emails (D2, 4 September 2026; D3, 15 September 2026). Nothing else enters the instruction.
  2. Instruction with limits. The instruction asks for a chronology from D1–D3 only, with event date, document date, statement, source location and status. It keeps requests apart from confirmations, allows NO SOURCE and adds no law, authorities, findings or deadlines.
  3. Every row tied to its source. Four supported rows, each tied to a document, page and paragraph. Orion’s report of the delivery is attributed as its account, not independently verified.
  4. Unsupported lines are stopped. “Vale breached a binding delivery deadline.” has no source: D1 makes the date subject to written confirmation and D2 defers it. The line is logged as rejected and excluded from the chronology.
  5. A qualified person reviews. The review card: every row has a real document, page and paragraph, the two dates stay apart, reports are attributed, unsupported lines are excluded, and a qualified person reviews the chronology before anyone relies on it.

A supervised method

Every fact tied to its document. Every step reviewed by you.

01

Permitted inputs

You decide which documents can be used and how to anonymise them before you start.

02

Output linked to sources

Chronologies, summaries and comparisons where every line points to the source document and page.

03

Check and stop

If a fact has no source, the workflow stops and flags it for review. The final decision is always yours.

The concerns you're right to have

A conclusion without a source isn't a shortcut. It's a risk.

Authorities that don't exist

AI assistants can cite cases, sections or deadlines that don't exist. If nobody checks every reference, the error ends up in your document.

Data that shouldn't leave the firm

Pasting a file into any tool, without knowing where the data goes, sits badly with your duty of confidentiality.

Checking everything twice

If the output doesn't show where each fact comes from, you end up rereading the whole file. The supposed shortcut becomes double work.

What you'll be able to do

Four preparation tasks, each with a verification record behind it.

Source-linked chronologies

From a file to a chronology where every fact points to its document and page.

Summaries and comparisons

Summaries tied to the documents supplied, and clause comparison against the actual text.

Supervised preparation

An assistant that organises the file and prepares administrative drafts, always with your approval.

One complete matter

The final project: a complete fictional matter, with a verification log and a named reviewer.

Contents

Ten chapters: foundations first, applications second.

Part I · Foundations

  1. 01Make your first checked draftYou do not need previous experience with AI. In about fifteen minutes you will make one small fictional draft, find a mistake, correct it and save the result.
  2. 02Give the assistant a usable briefYou will write a complete brief, save reusable task instructions and test the result.
  3. 03Review the result, then measure the workYou will review a draft in a fixed order, keep a review log and measure the whole job honestly.
  4. 04Build a chronology that points back to the fileYou will build a chronology in which every entry names its document, page and paragraph.
  5. 05Summarise and compare without erasing uncertaintyYou will write a source-linked file note and compare two versions of a clause word for word.
  6. 06Prepare an administrative handover under supervisionYou will draft a missing-records request and set up an assistant with explicit stop points.

Part II · Applications

  1. 07Choose a tool for the workYou will test up to two approved tools on a task you can check and record a decision you can explain.
  2. 08Turn a good procedure into a skillYou will turn the chapter 4 procedure into your first skill, test it on three inputs and version it.
  3. 09Delegate a limited task, optionallyYou will delegate one procedure you have already completed manually, inspect every returned file and record the next human decision.
  4. 10Complete the file-preparation projectYou will complete a fictional matter end to end and release it through a named reviewer.

Before you decide

The questions you'd ask, answered.

'Who reviewed it?'

Internal team completed internal editorial and technical checks. No external solicitor review is claimed. Fictional reviewers in worked examples are teaching characters.

'Why pay when professional bodies publish free guidance?'

Guidance explains the principles and the risks. This is working material: instructions, templates and cases to apply a verification method to your own files.

'Where does my clients' data go?'

That depends on the tool and its settings. The ebook helps you decide what information can be used, how to anonymise it and what to check before approving a tool. The exercises use fictional matters only.
